Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Omaha

There are plenty of great events coming to Omaha to support to the fight against breast cancer. Here’s our list of events to participate in this October!

Wacoal America Fit for the Cure

Wacoal is a proud partner of Susan G. Komen. In the past 16 years, they have donated more than $4 million dollars to help fund breast cancer research and other community programs through Fit for the Cure. How it works: 1. Come in for a complimentary bra fitting. 2. Wacoal will donate $2 for every fitting, no purchase required.* 3. Wacoal will donate an additional $2 for every Wacoal bra purchased at the event.

eCreamery – Pink Ribbon Delight

Give hope in the local fight against breast cancer! In recognition of national Breast Cancer Awareness Month, you can provide life-saving services with local impact when you support Susan G. Komen Nebraska. $10.00 from each 4 pint collection purchased goes directly to Susan G. Komen Nebraska to support education, screening and treatment support services in Nebraska (75%) and national breast cancer research (25%).


Mammography Van

On October 19th, a mammogram van will be onsite at Charles Drew to provide mammograms to patients who may have issues with mobility or a lack of insurance. Charles Drew will be using their drivers and vans to take patients to and from Creighton for the tests. Fourteen interpreters will also be on-site to make sure all care is being delivered in the patients’ languages. The event will bring several agencies together to provide guests with information about resources and support services available in the community. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy complimentary breakfast, lunch, snacks and educational activities. Children’s activities will also be provided at no cost.


Celebration of Life Luncheon

The Celebration of Life includes a ceremony in which survivors light candles and a bell tolls for those who have died. The event will take place on October 30th at the Scott Conference Center. This is an annual event for women of color who are breast cancer survivors. Learn more here.
