Get behind the wheel of the 2016 Honda CR-V, and you will have more choices than you did with the previous model year. Changes to the 2016 model are minimal following the upgraded exterior of the 2015 CR-V. This year, the biggest change is the new Special Edition (SE) trim level.
What the 2016 Honda CR-V SE Trim Adds
The new Special Edition trim for the 2016 Honda CR-V mostly enhances the exterior styling of the popular SUV. It upgrades the 16-inch steel wheels on the LX trim to 17-inch alloy wheels and gives you rear tinted glass for privacy as well as a security system for peace of mind. These changes are well worth it as the SE trim only adds $800 to the price of the LX.
Other CR-V Trims
The other trim levels for the 2016 Honda CR-V are nearly identical to their previous versions. All models come with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder that generates 185 horsepower and is paired with a CVT. Front-wheel drive comes standard, but you can upgrade to all-wheel drive on any model.
If you just want the basics, like power accessories and air-conditioning, as well as some luxuries, like the incredibly useful rearview camera, then stick to the base LX trim. From there, you can upgrade to the SE trim. After the Special Edition is the EX, with dynamic guidelines for the rearview monitor, automatic on/off headlights, Honda LaneWatch, heated seats, push-button start, improved stereo, and a unique exterior. You can also upgrade to the EX-L for dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, and optional navigation. The Touring adds numerous advanced safety features and a power tailgate.
Whether you want to drive the 2016 Honda CR-V Special Edition or another trim level, the team at O’Daniel Honda in Omaha, Nebraska, can help you by arranging a test drive or answering your questions.
