Dome

With 160 acres of plants, animals and unique habitats from around the world right here in Omaha, Nebraska, the Omaha Zoo is truly one of the best on earth. Suzanne And Walter Scott Aquarium

Get an up close look at sea turtles while sharks circle above you in the zoo’s 70-foot shark tunnel. Along they way, you’ll get to see Antarctic penguins, colorful warm water fish, and all sorts of magic from the world of underwater life.

The Desert Dome

You can’t go to the Omaha Zoo without going to the Desert Dome, the largest indoor desert on earth. A two-story, 84,000 square-foot facility, the Desert Dome features plant and animal life from three deserts around the world: the Namib Desert of southern Africa, the Red Center of Australia and the Sonoran Desert of the southwest United States. The Sun Room, which is at the Desert Dome’s exit, showcases newly hatched or young reptiles and amphibians.

Asian Highlands

Check out some of Asia’s wildlife beginning with a journey along the southern foothills of the Himalayan Range. Here, you’ll see red pandas, cranes and tufted deer. As you move along you’ll come across a sloth bear, Amur tiger, snow leopard, and other wildlife.

Berniece Grewcock Butterfly and Insect Pavilion

Are you a butterfly fan? Located right next to the aquarium, the Berniece Grewcock Butterfly and Insect Pavilion is home to ants, spiders, scorpions, walking sticks, mantids, centipedes, roaches, beetles and a variety of other creatures.

Children’s Adventure Trails

Here’s an opportunity for your kids to get hands on learning at this interactive exhibit.  The site is made up of three distinct areas: Children’s Adventure Trails, the Dick and Mary Holland Meadowlark Theater and the Education Building.
