Ditmars Orchard & Vineyard: Midwest Winds Kitefliers

While the weather is cold, the scheduling of festivals around the Omaha area and Midwest region is heating up. One of the most fun events at Ditmar’s Orchard is almost here! Come out and enjoy the Ditmars Orchard & Vineyard Kite Festival, starting September 17th and lasting until the 18th. Wristbands are available for purchase, and children under age 3 are free! This great event features kites of all shapes and sizes!

FREE Admission to National Parks

Do you have a 4th grader this year? The Every Kid in a Park program provides all 4th grade students and their families with FREE admission to National Parks and other federal lands and waters for an entire year! 4th grade students can download their passes online starting September 1st, and the pass will expire August 31st of 2017! The pass grants entry for 4th graders and up to 3 accompanying adults (or an entire car for drive-in parks) at more than 2,000 federally managed sites! There are locations across the country, so sign up for your free pass and go enjoy the great outdoors!

U-Pick at Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard

Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard is the perfect place for those seeking a slice of country life and good ol’ fashioned family fun! Come for the day and enjoy hay rack rides, apple-picking, U-Pick pumpkins, and much more! Fall apple-picking is offered Thursday-Sunday, starting September 10th and lasting until October 31st. Admission is $2 per person (ages 2 and under are free). Hay rack rides are provided every Saturday and Sunday in September and October unless it rains! They will supply you with bags for apple-picking and once you are done, just weigh and pay for the apples! Details about the U-Pick program can be found here.

Apple-picking hours: Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 11am-5pm

Also, join us for Nebraska City’s annual Apple Jack Celebration (September 17th & 18th, 9am-7pm)

They will have hay rack rides running all weekend taking you to the pick your own apples, a bungee trampoline, rope making, pony rides, face painting, live wood carving, live music, wine tastings, various craft vendors, delicious BBQ items, kettle korn, caramel apples, apple doughnuts, plus SO much more in their historic Apple Barn!

Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch

Come and fulfill your sense of wonder, fun, and family time at Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch! With many attractions to choose from and explore, the fun and adventure is endless! Skinny Bones’ 10 acre corn maze is our most popular attraction. With twists and turns along the way, it will be hard to find your way! Challenge your friends to our scavenger hunt, grab your punch card, and search for the punch stations hidden throughout the maze. If you complete all, your master maze status leaves you with new bragging rights and a lucky prize!

Friday from 6PM-10PM is Flashlight Night. Bring your own flashlight or buy one of ours. Great for families! Saturday from 6PM-10PM is Haunted Night. Live scarers move through the corn maze, anxiously awaiting their next victim. No flashlights allowed! (the corn maze is limited to 1 time per person)
