Mark your calendars! It’s time once again for the City of Omaha Celebrates America concert and fireworks show! We know you won’t want to miss this night of family fun. Last year’s event was a great success, and we are eagerly anticipating an even more promising show this year. Here is all the information you need to know about the event.

Time and Location

The celebration will take place on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Memorial Park. The park, one of Omaha’s most beautiful landmarks, is located at 6005 Underwood Avenue. The park will be open throughout the day, and we suggest getting there as early as you can to reserve the best possible spot for your family. Videos of local bands will be playing on the screen throughout the day.

The event kicks off at 5:45 with opening remarks. The schedule for the evening includes performances by three talented musical acts and a spectacular fireworks display. The festivities will wrap up by 11:00 p.m. Admission is free, and the event is family-friendly.

Performances

Da Crabby Blues Band is the first act to take the stage. A local favorite, we’re sure you’ll love their soulful sounds. The next artist in the lineup is Dave Mason. Formerly of the rock band Traffic, Mason left to start his own career in 1969. With almost 50 years of performing under his belt, Mason has written over 100 songs and has been awarded three gold and one platinum album. He’s also played alongside icons like Fleetwood Mac, Michael Jackson, and Paul McCartney. Mason was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

Finally concert headliner Sheryl Crow, nine-time Grammy winner and American music icon, takes the stage. Crow’s nine studio albums have sold over 35  million copies, and she’s had more singles to hit #1 on the Triple A chart than any other female artist. Crow is also well known for her support of a number of charities including The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Immediately following the performances comes the fireworks. This spectacular display will light up the sky as one of the largest fireworks shows in the region. The sparks will start around 10:00 p.m. and will conclude the evening’s events.

This event is sponsored by the City of Omaha, Douglas County, the Omaha Parks Foundation, Star 104.5, and Classic Rock 105.9. The celebration’s organizers are excited to welcome residents and visitors alike to Memorial Park. For many local families, this event is a highlight of the summer. We love seeing everyone get together to celebrate our country, hear some great music, and see some incredible fireworks. This year’s show promises to be a memorable one for all.
