Glance at the 2016 Honda CR-Z, and you may not recognize it. The exterior of this hybrid hatchback has been refreshed, and it is now even better than before. While the engine in the CR-Z is the same, the exterior styling ensures Omaha drivers stay interested.
2016 Honda CR-Z: What’s New
The 2016 CR-Z has a new set of bumpers in both the front and the rear. There are also new wheel patterns to choose from and more exterior paint choices. The CR-Z has 16-inch aluminum wheels with the same size tires.
There are also a few interior upgrades, including surface treatments, such as the brushed metallic finish on the door handles, center console, and front paneling. There is also a new leather-wrapped steering wheel. The center console has been redesigned as well, now featuring push button start, a 7-inch touchscreen, and an electric parking brake.
Familiar Features
The Honda CR-Z still runs on the same hybrid system, consisting of a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, a DC brushless electric motor, and Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist system. Either transmission gives you 130 horsepower, but the 6-speed manual gets 140 pound-feet for torque while the CVT gets 127 pound-feet. Choose the CVT for fuel efficiency with 36 mpg in the city, 39 mpg on the highway, and 37 mpg combined*.
