Comparing Trim Levels: 2015 Honda Odyssey LX vs. EX

2015 Honda Odyssey Dark Cherry Pearl

Two of the most popular models of the 2015 Honda Odyssey, LX and EX, share many of the same qualities. They run on the same engine (248-hp V6), get the same EPA-estimated gas mileage (19/28 mpg*), and offer the same excellent cargo volume (up to 148.5 cu ft). The differences between them, however, can help you decide which 2015 Odyssey is right for your family. Both the LX and EX are available to compare in-person at O’Daniel Honda in Omaha.

Simplification

Some of the features added by the 2015 Odyssey EX trim reduce the decisions the driver has to make, simplifying the experience. Standard Smart Entry with Push Button Start lets EX drivers get in and start their Odyssey without fiddling with keys. Headlights on the LX turn off automatically, so your battery won’t go dead. Headlights on the EX turn on automatically, too, providing the best visibility according to external conditions. The EX’s Windshield Wipers are also linked to the Headlights. The 2015 Odyssey LX has manually-controlled Air Conditioning for both the Front and Rear of the vehicle. All three rows in the EX get specialized, automatic attention with Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control System with Humidity Control and Air Filtration. And if the outside glass is fogged or frozen over, that’s no trouble with the EX’s Heated Side Mirrors.

Family-Friendly Features

Sliding doors open by hand can be difficult for small children, or inconvenient if you have your hands full. The 2015 Odyssey EX has Power Sliding Doors to ease this burden. While both the LX and EX include a Sunglasses Holder, the EX includes a Conversation Mirror to keep an eye on the backseat. Integrated Sunshades for the 2nd-row also keep EX passengers comfortable. The EX actually seats 8, while the LX seats 7, due to the EX’s Multi-Function 2nd-Row Center Seat. The extra seat can fold down and act as a tray with cupholders. The center console also plays dual roles in the EX, with a Removable Front Center Console with Storage and Flip-up Trash-Bag Ring.

Creature Comforts

When you spend a large part of your day in your vehicle, small comforts go a long way. The 2015 Honda Odyssey EX adds many minor amenities that add up to significant satisfaction. The 2015 Odyssey LX has Seatback Pockets on the passenger side of the front row. The EX add Seatback Pockets to the front row driver side, as well as on the 2nd-row. Floor Mats help keep all three rows clean in the EX, while the LX only has Floor Mats in the Front- and 2-Rows. Driving long distances is more comfortable with lumbar support, and the EX Driver’s Seat has 10-Way Power Adjustment including Power Lumbar Support. The LX Driver’s Seat has 8-Way Power Adjustment only.

Technology

The 2015 Odyssey EX trim comes standard with Honda LaneWatch. Honda LaneWatch displays a live feed of the right passenger lane when the right turn blinker is activated, minimizing blind spots before changing lanes or turning. Also standard on the EX is HomeLink Remote System, which is a convenient, built-in garage door opener. The Audio System for both trim levels includes AM/FM/CD, Pandora, and Bluetooth capabilities, but the 2015 Odyssey EX is 30 watts stronger, and includes an Audio Touchscreen and HondaLink featuring Aha Compatibility.
