Honda vehicles are known for their family-friendly nature, and the recent awards from the U.S. News & World Report officially confirm this fact. The SUV and minivan are excellent options for fitting a large family, providing entertainment, and keeping the people you love safe.
The Awards
In its list of the 2015 Best Cars for Families, U.S. News & World Report included two great Honda vehicles: the Honda CR-V and the Honda Odyssey. The Odyssey won the title of Best Minivan for Families for its fifth year in a row, while the CR-V was announced as the Best Compact SUV for Families.
When determining the winners of the Best Cars for Family award, the U.S. News & World Report considers every aspect, such as family-friendly features, cargo volume, seating space, reliability and safety ratings, and professional auto reviews.
About the CR-V
For the current model year, the body of the Honda CR-V was restyled and a new engine was added. The direct-injection i-VTEC engine from Earth Dreams Technology works with a new CVT, improving fuel efficiency and performance. The CR-V also now features Honda Sensing safety features, plus driver-assistive features for the Touring trim. Even the styling was revamped, both inside and out.
About the Odyssey
The popular Odyssey minivan also saw numerous updates for the model year, with upgrades ranging from safety equipment to features to styling to the powertrain. The new 6-speed automatic transmission leads to ratings from the EPA that truly lead the class, and connectivity updates help families stay connected even while on long road trips or waiting for the kids to finish soccer practice.
