Look at the list of Honda innovations, and you will notice that a great deal of it has to do with driving technology. Between advanced driver-assistive features, safety features, and work toward a self-driving vehicle, Honda has made advances in every aspect of driving technology.
Driving-Assistive and Safety Features
Most Omaha drivers are familiar with the automaker’s advanced driving technology related to safety and driver assistance. The new Honda Sensing suite makes it easier than ever to enjoy a safe drive behind the wheel. It adds Lane Departure Warning, the Lane Keeping Assist system, Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Departure Mitigation, Forward Collision Warning, and the Collision Mitigation Braking System. Even on models where the Honda Sensing suite isn’t available yet, you will find at least some of these features as optional. With so much advanced technology related to safety and driver assistance, driving is less stressful.
Self-Driving Cars
Another key area of advanced driving technology is self-driving vehicles, and Honda is one of the innovators working on achieving this goal. Honda’s goal is to successfully manufacture a vehicle that can drive you right to your destination by 2020. Reviewers who have visited the research and development center say that this goal can easily become a reality. To create the self-driving cars of the future, Honda is combining lane recognition, 3-D sensing, and high-resolution maps. There are teams working on each area of the project, and the current prototype relies on plenty of advanced sensors.
