If you have kids, keeping them entertained can feel like a full-time job. Just like your regular job, you need a break from time to time. You can get that break by taking your kids to the Omaha Children’s Museum. The museum is so full of activities that you won’t have to worry about finding things that your little ones can do to occupy their time. That means you can spend an entire afternoon without hearing, “I’m bored.” That’s worth the $14 price of admission!
Before you get your $14 out and jump in the car, take a minute to plan your trip. Check out the exhibits you need to visit when you’re at the museum!
Imagination Playground – Perfect for Preschoolers
If your kids are in preschool, the Imagination Playground should be your first stop. This interactive playground is the place for kids to let their imaginations run wild. They can do some grocery shopping, hang out in the barn, and climb around inside of the playground. While kids enjoy the entire playground, most spend most of their time inside the grocery store. They can shop or work there, and even ring up groceries. This is make-believe at its finest.
The Tinker Lab – a Must-Visit for All Ages
Have your kids aged out of the Imagination Playground? You’ll want to visit the Tinker Lab. Your kids can pick from the child-sized tools and create their own masterpieces. While your kiddos work their magic, you’ll have a hard time keeping the smile off your face. You’ll always remember watching your child in protective goggles, marking a piece of wood with a pencil before doing some hammering. It’s absolutely adorable, and honestly, it’s about as much fun for parents as it is for kids.
Exhibits for All Ages
The museum also has different shows for all ages. Kids 10 and under love the Charlie Campbell Science and Technology Center, where they will play with the Super Gravitron and enjoy hands-on activities. This is the perfect place to introduce your children to the wonders of science.
Also, kids of all ages love the Streck Science Showplace. The showplace stages awe-inspiring science-themed shows. There are new shows each season, so come back, again and again, to see what’s happening on the stage.
Then there’s the Fantastic Future Me exhibit. Kids 10 and under can take photos of their faces and then drag and drop elements into the computer to design their futures. Here’s the really cool part. The science center will email you some tips to support your kids’ future career plans.
