Where to Spend July 4th in Omaha
July 4th marks one of the proudest days in American history, so it is celebrated highly throughout the United States year after year. However, very few communities celebrate this day the same way that people do in Omaha, Nebraska. For residents nearby this area, there are plenty of holiday festivities taking place. Here are three of the most popular things to do on July 4th in Omaha, Nebraska.
Fourth of July Celebration BBQ
Fort Robinson State Park in Crawford, Nebraska holds a huge BBQ every year on July 4th. A park entry permit or $6.00 entry fee is required, and the buffet is planned for the day costs $8.95 per person. However, people are welcome to BBQ on their own inside of the park. This event follows the parade in Crawford. It is open to people from around the Crawford area and beyond, so be sure to attend!
Red, White, and Zoo!
The Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium also has a special event planned for the Fourth of July. For the last few years, the zoo and aquarium have been holding their Red, White, and Zoo event between July 1st and July 4th from 9 AM to 5 PM. This event comes as part of regular zoo admission, but it is free to people who are members. Lots of entertainment will be present. Get ready for amazing music and special animal events! There will also be bounce houses for children. The first 800 guests to arrive will receive a patriotic gift, so arrive early!
Bank of the West Celebrates America
Each year for the last 27 years, the Bank of the West has held a concert celebrating America. The concert is free at Memorial Park in Omaha, and it is followed by a firework show. Banks for this year include the following: Kool & the Gang, Emmett Bower Band, and The Confidential.
