Summer in Omaha has just begun and there are plenty of things to do. To kick start your summer, take a look at some of the amazing weekly events happening in Turner Park and Midtown Crossing.
Yoga In The Park
If part of your summer is to create a routine that includes regular active time, you’ll love the weekly Yoga in the Park event hosted by Methodist Health System. Every Sunday, from June 5 to July 31 you can pack up your yoga mat or blanket and head to Turner Park for an hour of joyous movement. The classes are led by certified yoga instructors from Genesis Health Clubs.
Jazz On The Green
Get ready for smooth tunes all summer long! Jazz on the Green is back for another summer of music loving fun in Turner Park. Presented by Omaha Performing Arts, the Jazz on the Green event will be held every Thursday between July 7 and August 11. The event will feature artists such as Rhythm Collective, Shawn Johnson Big Band Experience, and Lakecia Benjamin. The best part about the event is that it is free and open to the public. Playing With Fire
Another event bringing live music to Turner Park this summer is Playing With Fire. Playing with Fire hosts free summer concerts during mid-July and mid-August. The organization is a 501(c)3 that is dedicated to building worldwide connections by hosting musicians from all over the world. The concerts will be July 15 -16 and August 13-14. Some of the many artists featured in the concerts will include:
- Ghost Town Blues Band
- Twelve Bar Blues Band
- Rex Granite Band, featuring Sarah Benck
- Catfish
- When Rivers Meet
- Harris James

Night Market
Add supporting local businesses to your summer plans and take a look at the local artisans, boutiques, and makers at the 5th annual Night Market held at Turner Park on Friday May 13 and Friday June 24. The Night Market will feature over 40 vendors, live music, food from local restaurants, and outdoor games.
