Dance Into Spring With Classes At Omaha Jitterbugs

Sometimes when a song comes on, you just can’t help but get up and dance. Omaha Jitterbugs feels the same way, and they offer classes to have life-changing fun and build community. Omaha Jitterbugs is a nonprofit organization that offers social and swing dancing lessons. They serve more than 150 people each week to improve mental and physical well-being through dance. Since Omaha Jitterbugs began in 2000, they have offered a weekly night out, provided educational programs, and hosted regional events that feature instructors and musical acts.


Omaha Jitterbugs has programs for all ages and skill levels. Their goal is to foster creativity, build community and social skills, and provide mental and physical wellness opportunities. Their programs include weekly social dancing, teen and adult classes, early childhood classes, performance team, workshops, and an annual jazz and swing dance festival. Learning to dance should be fun and cost-effective, which are two attributes Omaha Jitterbugs pride themselves on.

Not sure if you want to try? Omaha Jitterbugs has free online classes! If you’d like to take things slow, one class per week for a month is only 50 dollars in total. Two or more classes a week are only 75 dollars a month.

Check out some of the Omaha Jitterbugs’ events going on throughout the year. Jitterbugs’ Night Out is every Friday evening from 8 p.m. until midnight at Eagles Ballroom. No need to bring a partner. Jitterbugs also has what they call Rhythm Weekends filled with three days of workshops with international tap and jazz dance instructors. Lindy in the Park offers free outside dancing and will also give you the opportunity to meet new people. Lindy in the Park is every Sunday in April through September. Cowtown Jamborama isn’t just fun to say, it’s also a fun jazz and swing dance festival. All dancers and non-dancers are welcome to join in on the fun and celebrate with live music.
