Among the sedans on the market, the Honda Accord has always stood out with its top reliability, great styling, and amazing pricing. The 2016 Accord will take all the features Omaha drivers know and love and add a few extras to keep the sedan up-to-date with the latest technology.
Tech Updates
The biggest updates for the 2016 Honda Accord are the Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto capabilities. The Accord will actually be the first Honda model to have this feature, which is found on the EX or higher trims. This system makes it even easier to connect your Apple or Android smartphone to your sedan to listen to music and enjoy other functions right on the 7-inch Display Audio screen. The updated technologies in the 2016 model include an additional 7.7-inch screen for text messages, phone calls, audio info, trip-computer information, turn-by-turn directions, and cameras.
Safety Updates
Honda made sure to update all technology elements in the 2016 Accord, including safety. Before, Omaha drivers could enjoy lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, and adaptive cruise control. For 2016, advanced safety options also include road-departure mitigation, lane-keep assist, and automatic emergency braking. All these features combine in the Honda Sensing suite, which is standard on the Accord Touring and optional on all others.
Other Updates
You will also notice that the 2016 Accord has a multi-angle rearview camera on all models, and most come with a 60/40 split and folding rear seat. The EX and higher trims now have HomeLink integration and satellite radio as standard. The top Touring trim even adds standard heated rear seats, parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and more.
